DIANNE'S BREAST CANCER - SUMMARY OF DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT 2008 - 2009

EVENTS OF DIANNE'S BREAST CANCER

Inability to work since Oct 23, 2008 due to breast cancer diagnosis:


  • Stage II invasive lobular breast cancer diagnosed with biopsy 10.23.2008
  • MRI of both breasts at Anmed Health
  • Genetic tests completed at Greenwood SC Genetic Center
  • Lumpectomy surgery to remove tumor and nodes with 1 sentinel node positive out of 3 tested
  • Axillary node dissection surgery to test regional nodes and all 10 were negative.
  • Physical Therapy weekly required for reduced arm mobility due to axillary node dissection surgery
  • Chemotherapy with TAC - Taxotere/Adriamycin/Cytoxin with 6 treatments every 21 days caused significant side effects
  • Radiation will begin in early June 2009 to radiate 5 days per week for 6 ½ weeks
  • Hormonal Therapy with Arimidex to begin in June 2009
  • Physical therapy and nutrition therapy
